Police Open Probe After Viral Video Shows Threats to Officers

Accra, June 21, 2025 — The Accra Regional Police Command has launched an official investigation following the circulation of a viral video showing an unidentified individual allegedly obstructing police at work and issuing threats toward the Ghana Police Service.  


Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the region, condemned the actions, describing them as offences under Ghanaian law that jeopardize public safety. Authorities are working to identify the person in the video and bring them into custody for prosecution.  


Obeng urged the public to avoid interfering with law enforcement and to report concerns through legal channels. Citizens are encouraged to submit any information related to the case to the nearest police station or via emergency hotlines at 18555 or 112.  


The Accra Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and safeguarding the rights of all citizens, calling for public cooperation in the ongoing investigation.
